Managing your own weakness

There are a lot of things I'm not good at. Here's a short list:

1.  Administrative tasks

2.  High Diving

3.  Sitting still

4.  Internal processing

5.  Soccer

6.  Foreign Langauges

7.  Working with Type-A people (see #1)

8.  Grammar

9.  Math

10.  Lawn care

And that's an abridged list of things I'm not good at.  What would be on your list?  Try writing them down and evaluate your emotions as you go.  Do you feel shame?  Do you feel like you are letting yourself down or others down?  Do you feel like you are failing?

If you experience negative feelings about yourself then you're not managing your own weaknesses.  Leadership is a challenge within itself.  You don't need a weight of "self hate" hanging around your neck.  If leaders were intended to do everything than we wouldn't work with other people.  Don't be ashamed of the things you're not good at.  Instead recognize those around you who are strong where you are weak.  Give them the opportunity to lead!
