Have you ever had to call technical service? I've called many times and the first step towards a solution is always the same. The first question is, "Did you restart it?" Restarting comes with a high level of fear, it requires looking at whatever I have been doing and admitting my work or strategy is failing. Brutal.
But the key to restarting is not fearing personal loss. instead think about what
you OTHERS will gain. Your current system or strategy could work for you but it could be causing others a great deal of pain or wasting their best productive energy. It would be a mistake to measure everything through a lens of "if it works for me." Instead measure a possible restart by, "Is it working for those its suppose to work for?"
If not, it's time to restart.
