What have you done to create big time movement in your life? What are you doing to do what you love?
Almost everyone around us is trying to answer that question in their life. We all want movement. We all want a direction. We all want to be a part of something that matters. We all want to do what we love. However, I hear those without big jobs, those without mega-blogs, and those who haven't arrived at their desired destination are frustrated with their lack of movement.
Today I want to encourage you.
Something I enjoy in my life is coaching football. I get the privilege of coaching the biggest people to play the game: The offensive and Defensive line. Yesterday in practice we were doing a drill where two offensive linemen go against a single defensive lineman. The end goal is to see who can move who.
After watching a few go rounds I eventually stopped the younger group going and said, "You do realize the winner is always the side that takes the smallest steps in the least amount of time, right?"
Did you hear that? The one who creates the most movement is the one who takes the smallest steps in the least amount of time.
This advice seems somewhat backwards in a game filled with strong, fast, and big people. You would think taking big steps is how people win, but it's actually how you always lose a battle of movement.
So what are you up to today? Are you trying to hit the home runs? Are you trying to take massive steps? Are you judging yourself for not getting to where you want to be?
The movement you want is found in the small steps.
